The integration package of the i.Lon100 smart server
for the Wonderware system platform

MSP iLink integration package

The MSP iLink package provides connectivity and integration of the Echelon iLon100 SmartServer devices for the Wonderware ArchestrA plattform.

The package contains these components:

  • MSPiLink application object
  • DASiLink DA Server

The MSPiLink ArchestrA object allows full configuration of the iLon100 Smart Server in the ArchestrA IDE, storage of the iLon100 configuration in the ArchestrA Galaxy repository, configuration of data points and optional iLon100 configuration on
deployment.

The ArchestrA i.Link Model

The MSPiLink application object allows direct configuration access to the iLon100 devices in the ArchestrA IDE. It also allows defining 3 types of iLon100 attributes:

  • Constant attributes
Values for these attributes are acquired at configuration time in the IDE. The values for these attributes will not change at runtime.
  • Read only attributes
Values for these attributes are acquired at runtime by the object without accessing the DASiLink DA server. There is one global scan rate per object for these values.
  • IO attributes
Values of these attributes can be read and written at runtime. The MSPiLink application object uses the DASiLink DA server to access the data.

This model allows grouping constant and non critical read only data into attributes not counting as ArchestrA IO points, while runtime IO data is acquired efficiently through the DAS subsystem.

Each iLon100 device is represented by a MSPiLink object and usually one DASiLink DA Server exists per application.

3. Storage of iLon100 configuration data
4. Read/write access to datapoints
5. Accessing data points (read) without DA Server IO access reducing license costs
6. Simple object configuration
7. Optional download of iLon Smart Server device configuration data on deployment (enabling pre-configured roll outs)
8. Accessing data points (read) without DA Server IO access reducing license costs

DASiLink DA Server:

1. Simple configuration (IP address only)
2. Namespace browsing
3. Full support of Lon datatypes
4. Full OPC support
